Our commitment

Poopyfeed ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your family. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

The short version: We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to make the app work, we encrypt sensitive information (your baby's name and birthdate), we don't sell any of it, and we automatically delete tracking data after 30 days.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Baby Profile Information: Name and birth date (optional) of your child
  • Tracking Data: Feeding times and amounts, diaper changes, naps, temperature, and weight measurements
  • Preference Settings: Which tracking features you have enabled (e.g., breastfeeding, naps, temperature)

Information collected automatically

  • Device Token: A randomly generated identifier for your device. This is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
  • Push Token: If you enable notifications, we store your device's push notification token to send feeding reminders.

Information we do NOT collect

  • Your name or email address
  • Your location
  • Your contacts
  • Photos or camera access
  • Any analytics or behavioral tracking data

How we use your information

We use your information solely to:

  • Display your tracking data within the app
  • Sync data between your devices (if you use a link code)
  • Share data with people you invite (e.g., your partner)
  • Send feeding reminders if you enable notifications
  • Generate temporary read-only share links (if you create them)

We do not:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Use your data for advertising
  • Share your data with analytics companies
  • Use your data for any purpose other than providing the app's functionality

Data security

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • Encryption of sensitive data: Your baby's name and birthdate are encrypted on our servers using AES-256-GCM encryption.
  • Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS encryption.
  • Anonymous tokens: Your device is identified by a randomly generated token, not by any personal identifier.
  • Minimal data: We only store what's necessary for the app to function.

Data retention

Automatic Deletion: Tracking events (feeds, diapers, naps, etc.) older than 30 days are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. This happens daily.

Account Deletion: You can delete all your data at any time by using the "Reset App" feature in Settings. This will permanently delete your device token and all associated data.

Data sharing

Your data is shared only when you explicitly choose to share it:

  • Invite Codes: When you generate an invite code, people who enter that code will be able to view and add to your baby's tracking data.
  • Share Links: When you create a read-only share link, anyone with that link can view your baby's recent events until the link expires.

We do not share your data with any third parties for any other purpose.

Push notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store your device's push notification token. This token is used solely to send you feeding reminders based on your configured feeding interval. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app.

Children's privacy

Poopyfeed is designed to help parents track their infant's care. While we store information about babies (name, birth date, feeding/diaper/nap data), this information is:

  • Provided and controlled by the parent or guardian
  • Encrypted and protected
  • Automatically deleted after 30 days
  • Not used for any purpose other than displaying it to authorized caregivers

Third-party services

Push Notifications: We use Expo's push notification service to deliver notifications. Expo receives your push token but no other personal information. You can review Expo's privacy policy at expo.dev/privacy.

We do not use any other third-party services such as analytics, advertising, or crash reporting.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all your stored data within the app
  • Delete: Delete all your data using the "Reset App" feature
  • Control: Choose what to track and who to share with
  • Opt Out: Disable notifications at any time

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
